Bio

Born in Brisbane Australia, James began his film journey early in life, picking up his first camera at the age of 11 and falling in love with photography  first, then the magic of motion images. He continued his passion through his schooling, before attending film school at Queensland University of Technology.

 

James began his career working on Chanel 7's Home & Away, as well as creating short narrative films, documentaries and music videos, working as a news camera operator for WIN News, Ten News then Nine News, before moving on and working with the Australian Supercars Championship's in house broadcast and media department.

 

Now, James is dedicated to creating outstanding motion images and industry leading engaging screen-based content with creativity, precision and authenticity, as well as nurturing the artists of the future.

ENVOY: Shark Cull

Over 2019-2021 James was fortunate to work with The Hype Project as Cinematographer and Editor on Envoy: Shark Cull is a feature-length documentary, narrated by Eric Bana which follows some of the biggest names in ocean conservation, such as Sea Shepherd, Ocean Ramsey and Madison Stewart. We will join these experts as they explore and expose this scarcely understood topic.

Dreams was a short pre-fight promotional video James filmed with The Hype Project for Australian heavy-weight champion Demsey McKean, exploring what it takes to follow your dreams at the highest levels of sport.

Directed by James Latter, James had the pleaser of working as both camera operator and gaffer on multiple music video projects for Brisbane band Brixton Alley in 2022

Supercars Australia 2017-2019

Through the 2017-2019 seasons, James worked with the Supercars digital and in-house broadcast teams to create branded content for broadcast over multiple platforms.

James worked with The Hype Project as cinematographer and editor, on one of several commissioned  videos for Ipswich Girls and Junior Grammar School's new marketing campaign in 2020.
